A Special Location
Nestled in a clove of North Mountain and part of the Northern Catskill Wilderness Preserve and Hudson Valley, the location couldn’t be more scenic. With lush gardens and mature trees surrounding the Inn, one can’t help but admire the attractive grounds that are carefully maintained. Each season brings a symphony of color that complements the Inn and its historic atmosphere. It’s no wonder that the Northern Catskills were the subject of so many famous Hudson River painters and 19th C. paintings.

The Inn and Grounds
Since 1863, the farmhouse that was opened in the summers to naturalists, sight-seers, and tourists, has been expanded, up-dated, and lovingly maintained by over five generations of innkeepers - the Whitcomb family. Amazingly, the natural beauty that attracted the very first 19th C. visitors to the Catskills still greets Winter Clove’s guests and families today.

The Conference Center
Winter Clove offers a complete conference center for groups planning meetings or seminars for five to one-hundred twenty persons. The Center offers four bright and comfortable meeting rooms in a restored 19th C. carriage house. With its proximity between Albany and New York City, its location in the Northern Catskills is easily accessible.

What Our Guests Say About Us
"My family and I just returned from four nights at Winter Clove, our second trip there. We all had a wonderful time! I look forward to returning and sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair, reading a book."
